WITH the sky above still brilliant blue and our monthly ‘Beer & Cheese Night’ just 24 hours away, the lyrics of the Ella Fitzgerald crooned classic ‘Summertime’ seemed the ideal place to start this week’s Good Beer Buzz blog!
This really is the ideal opportunity to discover just what a perfect combination well matched cheese and beer are and, of course, our experts will be there at your disposal to make sure your taste buds are well and truly tickled.
Our friend, Glasgow’s top cheesemonger George Mewes, has allowed us to have the services of Joe, his cheesemonger extraordinaire and we can assure you…he is no ordinary Joe!
Without stealing Joe’s thunder, The GBB can reveal that a sensational selection of summer cheeses will be presented for your delectation tomorrow night that will draw from the world class British and continental Artisan cheeses that no discerning foodie can pass up and have made George Mewes Scotland’s main (cheese) man.
But when these cheeses are paired with a selection of Brewhouse classics (including our near mythical Blueberry Lager) hand – picked by our head brewer Jonathan, we can promise you that whether (as Ella would say!) “your daddy’s rich and your ma is good lookin” a great night is a racing certainty!
The good news is there are still a few tickets left, priced at a bargain £15 (call us on 01786 834555 or email [email protected]) and we are confident that you will agree with us this is a popular evening will guarantee you a slice of heaven this summer!
Speaking of summer….for 24 hours only you can still catch the Brew of the Week Video which features our legendary Brewhouse Sangria Cider starring the equally legendary Adam John Patterson!
Indeed below is a pic that illustrates just how hard the life of a Brewhouse Brewer can be!
But if you want to catch Adam’s colourful tasting notes and a glass of our limited edition Sangria cider we suggest you click on the Brew of the week vlog and enjoy!
For your titillation next week’s Brew of the week will feature the citrus Nirvana that is Pot of Gold!
But The Good Beer Buzz always likes to review the week that was and last weekend was very much a case of ladies night(s)!
On Friday our popular Open Mic feature was stolen by the Brewhouse’s very own flame-haired pop princess Mo (pictured below), who’s angst ridden acoustic version of Kesha’s ‘Praying’ quite literally brought the house down.
24 hours later it was the turn of Falkirk’s favourite songbird Fiona McTaggart (pictured below) to capture the hearts of The Brewhouse cognoscenti with her selection of easy-listening standards and emotionally charged Johnny Cash anthems.
Looking ahead to this weekend The Brewhouse big screen will be busier than Neymar’s acting coach and in almost constant action at as the FIFA World Cup reaches the last eight stage!
With England’s quarter-final against Sweden set for 3pm on Saturday we suggest there will be no place better to watch ‘The Three Lions’ whimper….or roar!
But if the football doesn’t tickle you fancy why not join us on Saturday night for the return of the ever-popular ‘So What’ (pictured below) who will make sure your every musical need is catered for!
Before we leave can we just remind you that our bespoke brewery tours are continuing to run all summer long and to book a place feel free to contact us at the contact details listed earlier.
Until next time….that’s all folks!
