Every Witch Way But Loose!

No sooner had we put our broomsticks away than it’s time to get the ear muffs out with Guy Fawkes Night looming large.

To help us enjoy these two highlights of the Autumn calendar The Allanwater Brewhouse is proud to present four classic winter warmer beverages.

First up and pouring right now we are delighted to present our Ale’oween and Batty Brew beers, two pints that will warm the soul, even on all Hallows Eve (!) especially when supped in front of our aromatic log stoked stove.

While you can get the full vlog movable feast low down on these two (pictured below) from our self-styled ‘ale aesthete’ Adam John Paterson, The Good Beer Buzz is delighted to share a quick tasting note with you!

Ale’oween is our annual Halloween special ‘spooktacular’ pumpkin beer. Seasoned with a variety of spices like nutmeg and ginger, this belter hits you with a dry and interesting taste while a refreshing spicy after kick comes at you fast from just around the corner. Exceptionally ‘moreish’ Ale’oween will be pouring all the way through to Guy Fawkes Night…while stocks last!

The Batty Brew, also available to take away in bottle, is a deliciously hoppy blonde beer laced enfused with fresh Vampire blood and we are confident the unique blend of seasonal spices infused into this pint of liquid heaven will bring out your dark side! But be warned this seasonal favourite is strictly limited release.

Looking forward to the weekend we are delighted to welcome back our old chums ‘So What’, pictured below, who will occupy our treasured 9pm Saturday night top of the bill slot, so why not join us for a night of classic folk standards you won’t want to miss!

Of course the annual Bridge of Allan Bonfire and Firework display rolls around on Monday night 5th November and to make sure we have something to take the minds of revellers from their frozen fingers and numbed tootsies we will be pouring our immortal Mulled Cider and Toffee Apple Beer!

Pictured below the Mulled Cider is a Brewhouse classic which sees us lovingly infuse our traditional farmhouse cider with a plethora of secret seasonal spices, which makes it the ideal winter warmer drink and, we guarantee, a cider which will vanquish the winter chill. We only serve this beauty when Jack Frost is around and it’s first outing of the year will be on  Guy Fawkes Night.

And as if that isn’t enough, riding shotgun, we present our Toffee Apple Beer which, we guarantee, will lift your spirits and is an exciting new addition to our winter warmer selection of beers.

Weighing in at 4.5% this beer is a smooth, seasonal ale with a subtle sweetness providing you with a unique sensory experience that, we advise, may leave you with a lingering desire for ice cream!

Now, of course last night we hosted our annual Halloween Fancy dress party and as you can see from the pic at the top of GBB our best dressed ‘visitor’ of the evening was particularly appropriate!

But while Batman definitely stole the show it was also good to see that Dracula dropped in for a bite!

So if you want to round off Bonfire night with a warming pint we can guarantee you a cosy crackling hearth, a friendly welcome and a selection of four of the most outstanding seasonal drinks you will ever taste!

But afore ye go please linger a while as we look back at last week’s highlights.

Saturday night saw the debut of a young singer who we are sure will become a Brewhouse favourite!

Pictured below Daniel Mooney’s superb version of Mr Brightside by The Killers proved a show stealer while the Stirlingshire crooner’s version of Lincoln Park’s numb wasn’t half bad either!

But we’d like to end this week’s GBB by saluting our midweek maverick John Boyd! With a little help on double base from ‘So What’s’ Derek and a couple of talented guests from Spain, old ‘Crazy Horse’ produced another memorable performance in our Tuesday night residency slot that left his fans, naturally, ‘enchanted’!

Until next time, as they say in all the best cartoons, ‘That’s All Folks!’
