Festive Frolics!

THE season to be jolly is now firmly upon us and at The Allanwater Brewhouse we can’t wait to share our plans for the festive season with you!

You won’t be surprised to learn that great beer, fine music, good company and a cosy atmosphere, we’re confident can’t be rivalled this side of the Ochills will be at the heart of all that is happening in the Brewhouse but we think we may have a surprise or two for you as well!

We were going to leave it until later but decided to wet your whistle nice and early with this week’s Brew of the Week which, back by popular demand, is Procrastination!

This double hopped double brewed pint of liquid perfection, pictured in all its glory above, is a Golden delicious IPA which, weighing in at 6%, packs a perfectly timed punch that is sure to leave you deliriously hoppy this Christmas!

Naturally if you want the full connoisseurs take on this thirst-quenching masterpiece then check out our Brew of the Week Vlog in which the permanently parched Adam John Paterson will reveal why Procrastination is the one pint he can’t wait for!

Now, we have a wee admission to make, this Saturday, December 15, for one night only, The Brewhouse will be shutting early to our patrons at 6pm as we play host to a 70th birthday party that was been booked a decade back!

We can’t share any names with you, but so happy was our honoured birthday guest when he held his 60th birthday with us, would you believe 10 years ago (!), that he immediately pencilled in his 70th!

So we hope you’ll understand that this type of loyalty must be rewarded with well…err…loyalty!

The good news is that we are back to normal on Sunday (16th December) with our monthly ‘The Jazz Pack” session, pictured below, will be in full flow between 4pm and 7pm as they once again treat our patrons to all that is good in the world of jazz spanning its many variations.

Moving forward a further 48 hours another Brewhouse favourite, John Boyd, will be unleashing his annual and hotly anticipated Christmas Classics Set on Tuesday night (18th December) and we will be delighted to be welcoming our chums from ‘The Friends of Bridge of Allan’ and the local Bike Club to what should be a night to remember….if you don’t over indulge in mince pies, mulled cider or Procrastination!

Now as you know we are always keen to diversify and expand the liquid rewards available from our bar and this Christmas we are especially excited about the Brewhouse Scottish Classic Gin Selection we will be sharing with you!

Indeed you might even want to invest in a Christmas bottle or two because we guarantee you it will leave the gin lover in your family purring with delight!

Now we must make mention of our Hogmanay Party, which will, would you believe be held on December 31st!

We will share the full card of opening times for the big days this festive season later on but on Hogmanay we close the bar at 6pm in order to prepare for our annual shindig.

The doors will reopen at 9.30pm and party goers will charmed by our old friends from ‘So What’ before being helped to bring in the bells with a glass of fizz then Brewhouse owner Douglas will help you bring in 2019 with a plateful of his famous home made steak & ale pie before it’s time for the carriages at 1.30am…approx.!

Tickets (pictured below) which are the hottest in downtown BofA, are still available at the bar…but hurry we’re now half way to a sell out!

As you know we always like to look back at the week that was before we go and the highlight was certainly the performance of Perthshire’s The Riverman Collective, pictured below, in our treasured Saturday night slot.

Indeed their penultimate offering, a fine rendition of the Rolling Stones ‘Paint It Black’, has made sure we will welcome them back in 2019.
