Stirling is The Shire!

WE have only just recovered our breath from a fabulous weekend at The Allanwater Brewhouse when another one has arrived!

But while Teuchter Rock may have dominated the stage last time around this time the full eclectic delight of our stable of superb musicians will, we guarantee, enrapture you!

Open Mic’ (FRIDAY 16th November)

First up tomorrow evening from 8pm will be our ‘Open Mic’ Friday night hosted by The Brewhouse’s very on version of Bonnie & Clyde…yes you’ve guessed it Mo & Callum!

So if you have an inner desire to share your vocal skills with an audience known for its patience and support then we would be delighted to let you tread our boards…like our immaculately whiskered friend below….for one night only!

Saturday’s Marquee slot (on stage 9pm Saturday 17th November)

But this Saturday’s Marquee slot belongs to Amy & Drew! If you haven’t heard them before then we’re sure you will agree that they are indeed Stirling’s answer to ‘The Shires’, such is the quality of their flawless renditions of Americana anthems and easy listening standards. In particular watch out for their version of the Johnny Cash classic ‘Ring of Fire’.

Pictured top of the bill we promise that the warmth and soul of Amy’s voice complemented by Drew’s flawless performance on acoustic six string will leave you purring over your pint!

The Jazz Pack – back for their monthly Sunday session. (Sunday 18th November 4-7pm)

While our musical journey has taken us from garage to contemporary country by the time we arrive at Sunday it’s got to be a case of all that jazz!

Of course that means that at 4pm this Sunday afternoon the atmosphere will be laid back and louche as our house band The Jazz Pack, who are pictured below, take to the stage for their hugely popular monthly gig.

The boys have built up a loyal following who can’t wait to sink into a comfy chair and soak up The Pack’s mix of trad and arthouse Jazz while wetting their whistles on our superb selection of brewhouse unique pints like Procrastination, (pictured below and we are assured best enjoyed during exam season!) which is back by popular demand and at a heavyweight 6%…packs a real punch!

Of course every Tuesday at The Brewhouse old crazy horse himself, our good friend John Boyd,  continues to provide his unique interpretations of the best of contemporary music, in one of our most popular residency slots from 9pm.

Brew of the Week

But when it comes to our Brew of the Week we never like to procrastinate so without further ado let’s introduce The Banana Beer!

Made from only the very best Fairtrade Bananas and weighing in at easy-drinking 4.2% this blonde beer is positively bursting full of…yes you’ve guessed it…Banana over and under tones…so if you don’t like nanas then shimmy down the bar and pick another beer from our classic draft selection!

Avuncular as always the permanently parched Adam John Paterson will be availing you of his own unique tasting notes on The Banana Beer in our Brew of the Week Vlog elsewhere on www.allanwaterbrewhouse.co.uk!

Movember

Of course with it being November it’s also ‘Movember’ and we’re delighted to announce that several members of our staff, some of whom you might recognise from the pic below, have had a close shave as they bid to do their bid to boost the charity’s coffers. The picture shows Douglas being restrained while the staff shave off his 40 year old moustache!!!! You can do your bit to support this fantastic charity by heading to our donation pages at https://moteam.co/allanwater-brewhouse?mc=1

Hogmanay Extravaganza

We are also delighted that from tonight tickets for our annual Hogmanay Extravaganza will go on sale at the bar!

Priced at a bargain £30, this will guarantee you a welcoming drink on arrival at 9.30pm before you are ushered to your reserved seat and table. You will then be treated to a night of Scottish acoustic folk classics and so much more by none other than our friends from ‘So What!’ before toasting the bells with a glass of free champagne.

Then to top a memorable night big-hearted Brewhouse owner Douglas will treat you to his ‘world famous’ stout marinated steak pie, served with choice Ayrshire totties and fresh seasonal veg before being ushered to your carriages at around 1.30am!

But spaces are very much limited so don’t be shy! Tickets only available from the bar at the Brewhouse or call us any day after 12 noon on 01786 834555.

The Week That Was!

For those who were with us last Saturday night then mere words will not be enough to do credit to the performance of ‘Box O’ Bananas’!

It’s hard to pick out set highlights but you can take your pick from The Stranglers Golden Brown, which we believe is still circulating on Facebook, to The Sex Pistols Pretty Vacant and an unforgettable interpretation of the theme tune from ‘Last of The Mohicans’.

But for us the show stealer had to be ‘Start Wearing Purple’ an old Polish folk song that simply brought the house down.

But we will finish with some good news! We are delighted to reveal that ‘Box O’ Bananas’ will be back in 2019, so just make sure you check our website at www.allanwaterbrerwhouse.co.uk for news of all or live entertainment because we can promise you won’t be disappointed!

Now, as they say in all the best cartoons ‘That’s All Folks!’
